Hi, my name is Christine Martin, for those you who know me I am in my fourth year of the Dirt Sportsman Division and for those of you that don’t, I would like to introduce myself.  I just turned 17 years old on February 28th, 2010.  I am a home-schooled student and will be attending SUNY Canton.  I am undecided if I want to pursue a veterinary degree or go into the field of electrical engineering.  Upon completion of my GED I will be attending SUNY-Canton for Veterinary Studies.

I raced go-karts for 3 years at Can-Am Motorsports Park in Lafargeville, NY and numerous racetracks in Pennsylvania, Snydersville Raceway, Borgers Speedway and Hamlin Speedway.  I received 3rd, 4th and 5th place High Points at numerous tracks and won both Junior Restricted Division Lite and Heavy at the Motorama in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in February of 2005.  Then for two years I raced a 600cc Modified Lite at Evans Mills and Can-Am Motorsports Park.  I received High Point for the 2006 race season for the Modified Lite Class at both Evans Mills and Can-Am Motorsports Park.  At the age of 14, I moved into the Sportsman Division, which I am currently racing.  I finished 17th in points at Can-Am Motorsports Park, 8th in points at Evans Mills and 7th in points in the SUNY Canton Series this season.

Along with my home tracks I have had an opportunity to race at Penn-Can in Pennsylvania, Brighton and Brockville Speedways in Canada, Weedsport, Rolling Wheels, Utica-Rome, Fulton and Syracuse all in New York.  This year my commitments will be the full 14 Sportsman DIRTcar Series Races, Friday night Can-Am, Saturday night Fulton and Sunday, Weedsport or Rolling Wheels.  Other races TBA on my website,

My rookie year was not a very good one. The chassis that I wanted from a certain manufacturer did not work out for me, it was a real struggle that year until the last two races when my parents bought me my first Troyer and it was love between her and me the first time I was on the track.  I now have four Troyer cars and will never drive anything else.  I would like to thank Mr. Colton of Troyer and his staff for all of the help and support that they continue to extend to me.

Racing is the biggest part of my life.  I get to travel with my family, meet new fans and racers but during the off season, I am busy with many different causes: I am a foster mother for Alley Cat Rescue, I volunteer at the Watertown SPCA, make visits to local hospitals with my therapy dog, C-Bisket, a white boxer and work with Breast Cancer Awareness.

I would like to thank my sponsors that contribute so much to my race team: SUNY Canton College, Creative Optical and Jefferson Eye Surgeons of Watertown and Alexandria Bay, New York.  Sundance Leisure of Watertown, New York, Eugene Gamble Agency, Nationwide Insurance of Watertown, New York, American Traditions Motorsports of Philadelphia, New York and our newest sponsor for 2010, Fabco Truss Company also of Watertown, New York.   They are always involved with my life personally and professionally, as a young racer this benefits me in every way.

Along with my sponsors there are so many people that I would like to thank but I will name a few.  Georgianna Kane, my grandmother, who hasn’t missed a race. Joe Orvis, my boyfriend, cook and loyal crewmember. Mr. Perry of SUNY Canton, it is so great to have Mr. Perry around me in the pits supporting and challenging me.  Janet and Wayne Martin, my grandparents and especially my Mom and Dad for all their hard work, traveling, love and devotion and most of all for believing in my dreams and me.  They continue to give me the tools necessary to achieve the things I want at this point in my life.

To all my fans who have supported and helped me, your kind words of encouragement and support is priceless to me and greatly appreciated.  I hope to make the entire North Country proud not only of my racing accomplishments, but also my personal undertakings.    SEE YOU AT THE TRACK…
